Macross /ma'kurosu/ n.
1 One of the most popular Japanese animation series with
groundbreaking mecha design. The original TV series was produced
by Studio Nuo in 1982. It has later been adopted by Harmony Gold
and was showed in US under the name of "Robotech". There are several
sequels to the series, including Flashback 2012, Do You Remember
Love - the Movie, Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross 7 and the
up coming Macross 3D.
2 Super Dimension Fortress 1(SDF-1), the 1200m long flag ship
of the U.N.Spacy during the first space war. The ship, built by
unknown aliens, crashed on Earth in 1999. After restoration and
reconstruction by the Unified Earth Government, it was launched
in 2009 under the attack of Zentradi. It was the last and the
only defense of the planet Earth...
